I've lost 80 pounds (I would like to lose ten more, but I'm satisfied with where I am) and people didn't start to notice until I had lost closer to 50.  I don't know if people noticed and didn't say anything or if they just didn't see the weight that I lost.  However, when I lost 50 pounds, everyone began noticing and saying something about the loss  -  all good things.
Sometime, I think that we are all lost in our own little worlds and don't often notice what is going on around us.
So don't become discouraged.  They will begin to notice and it won't take much longer and then you will begin to feel great!  I know that our sense of well being needs to come from inside and not from pleasing others, but it sure brightened my days when I heard family and friends say "my God Marg, do you ever look good.  Have you lost weight?"

Thank you, Margaret!  I appreciate the words of encouragement so much!

BTW, today I am in a pair of size 20 jeans!  Not 24, not 22, but 20!  A big number, I know, but so much less than when I started!

Good for you, Vickie! Every day will be a new discovery from now on as you continue to shrink.

I know it is frustrating when loved ones don't notice a weight loss.  I did find that no one really noticed I had lost until I had lost 50-60 pounds.  A few of my friends have had this same experience.  I don't know where you started but the bigger we are to start the more we need to loose before someone notices.  It will come and all those compliments will be really gratifying.

I'm up too- husband was snoring. I'll go back to bed in a minute. Sending Nancy a hug... grief is amazing... very difficult, but love sets us up to learn from loss.
My nephew in Chico (a couple of hours north of us) was hiking today and danced with a rattlesnake. He is in intensive care with a leg bite and will be there for quite some time I think. He will have quite the story to tell....
I got some of my laundry done yesterday as well as our taxes. Today I need to clean a couple of cupboard shelves. I found some moths under there, which means they got into something. Back to bed for me... good morning OFFers!

How typical of Cara being Carla. I remember visiting your hospital before Christmas on our girls day. Heard your co-workers thanking you for offering to work so they could have Christmas eve and day off. And this was 2 weeks before Christmas.
Yet, you didn't think to ask for this special Jewish religious holiday off for yourself. Women please learn to be better to you. YOU always are doing for others without a second thought. Heck, shopping with you is a trip unto itself. Your looking for something for you, but you see something that someone might like, so you get that item, and don't get one for you.
Love ya, hope we can still have our Tuesday together, let us know, we are flexible.

My friend Angela & I took a ride up the West side of Cayuaga Lake. With the strong winds the lake was angry looking.

We stopped at a small cafe for lunch. She was surprized when I ordered a Reuben instead of grilled chicken and salad. What the heck, it has been 5 years since I had one and it sounded yummy.

Less than 1/4 of a sandwich later and I guess I turned kind of green around the gills. The rest of the day was ugly. The pouch still rules!!!

Sorry that the weather is so bad for all of you.  I hate to say it, but it is glorious here.  Some might think it is too hot, but I am a lizard and love the heat.  It was up to the triple digits here yesterday.  I sat out at Starbucks with a large passion tea and read my book and just basked.  I loved it.  Nancy, I am sorry for your loss.  I still sometimes think of something I want to share with my grandmother and she has been gone about 8 years.  Vickie, good luck with your trip to MD Anderson.  It is a wonderful institution.  Today is a quiet day for me, laundry, maybe some rubber stamping, just lazing around.  I will try to get to the gym later today.  Have a good Sunday, everyone.  Stay safe with the bad weather.

Hi All,
Carla,  I hope you have a good holiday. The synagogue
in our town has opened their service to all people who would like a better understanding of the religious days. I think it is wonderful of them to do this.
Nancy,  I am so sorry for your loss. My Mom has been gone 4 years this month. Dad died in 1998 and Mom and I lived together after that. I still find myself wishing I could call them w/ news or questions. I don't think we ever stop missing them, but learn to move through our grief process.
Vicki,   You and your husband are in my thoughts and prayers. Thanks for your cooking expertise. Look forward to more good dishes.
Wishing you all a very good day (and a good night's sleep.)
My brother and SIL live in Anderson, SC. We haven't hear any news so I think they missed the brunt of the storms. Will call them this afternoon. Glad all of you from the east are safe and warm.
Thank you all for being here and sharing your lives w/ us. I really appreciate you so much.   Mag

Meg I think that is cool that your synagauge has opened up there service to thepublic like that our temple charged like 55.00 per person for a sedar and a meal for the first night and I thought that was to high. so our family had one tonight. I decided to work the first night instead. Carla
